Reasons to be Cheerful - Week 14

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy with a Heart

Number 1: Picnic in the park.
On Saturday we went out for a picnic in a park that was local to us when we use to live in Kings Heath. We met up with some of our friends and Alex had a good day out, mostly eating sausages, melon and cookies. He also got really into playing the bongos! It was nice to see everyone, have been feeling really alone lately so meeting up with our friends did make me smile.

Number 2: Signed and now it's a waiting game.
I can't tell you how excited I am about this. We signed up for two allotment sites and on Saturday in the morning we got asked to pop over to one of them to sign some forms and also got a chance to look around and see what they have to offer. We were both very amazed by what we get for the small amount of money we'd be asked to pay. It's just a matter of time now when we get the call to say one has freed up and we're now the top of the list for it. Fingers crossed!

Number 3: More adult food and less baby food.
Lately Alex has taken an interest in proper food. By that I mean if I put a bowl of baby food infront of him and another bowl with mini sausages and potatoes he'd go for the sausages and potatoes. He still likes to eat baby food, but it does make things easier on us as I can give him the same as us now and he'll eat it all up. Makes life a little easier.

He's now 1 year old. He started to get a bit anti-spoons about a month ago and at one point would only have food he could pick up himself. We doesn't mind a few meals on a spoon now but most of the time he'd rather grab it himself and munch away like a big boy :)
